A beautiful, rare, restored Mid-Victorian pine 6 drawer chest, on a plinth surround and 5/8” flat feet. A huge chest with plenty of storage capacity, with deep drawers, front to back. Drawers with all round dovetail construction and thick timber drawer bases. Runners replaced where necessary, so drawers glide easily in their recesses. The chest is fitted with a lower bonnet drawer, which incorporates the front plinth. Such drawers were used by Victorian women, as the name suggests, to store their bonnets. Fine panelled back, wax finish. A beautiful old pine chest.
