A superb, restored Mid-Victorian pine dressing chest, on a plinth surround. Restored drawer runners and bearers, so drawers glide easily in their recesses. Drawers with all round dovetail construction and timber bases. Large storage capacity chest with deep drawers front to back at 17″ internal.
Above the chest are three adjacent gallery, dovetailed drawers 2 1/4″ deep and also secures the tilt mirror, with barley twist supports and elliptical arched mirror. Around 1850 there was a revival of barley twist turnings and a move away from straight line mirrors to arched shapes, so an interesting early piece.
Original escutcheons. Wax finish. A fine, rare old pine dressing chest.
