A beautiful, restored, Victorian pine blanket box, on a plinth surround. All round dovetail construction. Sturdy base boards. Working lock with key. We are unable to guarantee the continued working of the lock as the springs can suffer from metal fatigue, but now in fine working order. The small insert of wood in the front of the box is original as was under the original coat. Internally fitted with a candle compartment. Original large strap hinges. Wax finish. A fine, large old box.
