A beautiful, restored, Victorian pine blanket box, circa 1870, on a shaped plinth surround. A fine, sturdy box, with all round dovetail construction. The interior is fitted with a hinged lid, candle compartment. The lid is secured with heavy strap hinges. Wide board base. Carrying handles. No lock fitted. Wax finish. An excellent, large, old pine box.
